Arrivals / 입국심사

Under review

Speak Korean when someone is waiting for an answer.

A textbook lets you finish the sentence. A landlord does not. Seoulvivor puts you in 126 spoken scenarios where a Korean character talks back, presses you, and decides whether you handled it. New scenarios land every month, over the air.

Seoulvivor on Product Hunt

One minute of it

An immigration officer at Incheon wants to know why you are here. You have to say it out loud.

Officer입국 목적이 뭐예요?
You서울 그리고 부산 여행 왔어요.
Officer얼마나 계실 거예요?
You서울에서 일주일, 부산에서 일주일 있을 거예요.
Officer숙소 예약 보여주세요.
ResultCleared  ·  Grade A

Afterwards it shows you the line you should have used. For the answer above: 서울로 갑니다. 서울에서 2주 동안 머무를 예정입니다.

Graded on three things

Listening

Did you understand?

Whether you answered the question that was actually asked, at the speed it was asked.

Speaking

Did it come out right?

Grammar, word choice, and whether the sentence would pass without a second look.

Nunchi / 눈치

Did you read the room?

Formality, timing, and knowing when not to argue. The part a textbook leaves out.

The three combine into one grade, S down to F. The same sentence does not score the same in front of a friend and in front of an official.

Who you have to deal with

Transactions

Ordering, paying, returning, refusing. A vendor leaves a toothbrush on your lap and comes back for the money.

Official procedure

Immigration, the ward office, the bank. People who need a specific answer in a specific order.

Conflict

A neighbour about the noise. A landlord about the deposit. Someone who is already annoyed.

Requests

Asking a favour of someone who has no particular reason to say yes.

Comprehension

An announcement, a fast explanation, directions you only get to hear once.

Social

The small talk that decides whether you get treated as a local or a tourist.

Clearing scenarios stamps your passport and moves you up the visa tiers — C-3, D-2, E-7, F-4 — and your weekly nunchi score is ranked against everyone else's.

Before you ask

Do I have to speak out loud?
Yes. The whole thing runs on your voice — there is no typing your way past it. The microphone is live only while you are answering a turn.
Is the grade an official Korean test result?
No. It is an estimate produced by an AI and shown as a game score card. It has no connection to TOPIK or to any government body.
What happens to my recordings?
They are sent for transcription and grading, then deleted once processed. Nothing is kept to train a model. The privacy policy sets out the whole pipeline, including what happens when a request fails.
Is the catalogue finished?
No. New scenarios are written and shipped every month, and they arrive over the air — the app picks them up on its own, without waiting for an App Store update.
Will this work if I am a complete beginner?
You need to read Hangul and know a few set phrases. Every scenario shows you two lines you can say before it starts, and hands you the better version afterwards.
Does it work without an account?
You can start straight away without signing in. An account is needed before any purchase, so that what you paid for stays attached to you.
